Watson Estate
The Watson Estate is located in Columbus, North Carolina and is set on 40 Acres with Lake Frontage. We are currently in the process of designing the following:
The Main Home is 21,000 sf with 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a great room with vaulted ceilings & woodwork, an art studio with kiln, bar with wine storage, theater, game room, and bowling alley. The home is built into the slope to allow sweeping views of the lake below and mountains beyond while granting the lower level the ability to be a walk out. A water feature flows along the north face, traveling under bridges from the attached garage and entry bridge, continuing along the west face towards the rear of the Main Home. The attached garage contains a mud room with dog wash and space for 3 cars. Whether enjoying the surrounding views, motion pictures, bowling lanes or the time with family, this residence is what dreams are made of!
A Detached Garage w/ Caretaker apartment flanks the attached garage at the Main Home’s entry. The Detached Garage and Caretaker apartment totals 5,000 sf, and creates a comfortable living space for those tending to the estate. The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a great room, laundry and office. The garage below holds enough space for 6 cars. With this apartment, it is assured that Caretakers themselves are taken care of!
Behind the Main home and connected by hardscape, the Pool Cabana is 2,750 sf and features a covered, outdoor kitchen with dining area, large gym space adorned with glass that opens towards the lake and views, locker room with adjacent steam shower, powder rooms, changing area, along with an outdoor shower. Adjacent to the outdoor kitchen is the 40′ x 20′ pool as well as two Tuuci Cabanas and a nearby firepit. Swimming, grilling, pumping iron; it doesn’t matter what brings you to the pool cabana, know that it’ll keep you busy while there!
Between the Main Home and the lake lies the Fishing Cabin with 1,100 sf. A pull-thru garage for boat storage and use is joined by a cozy living area with fireplace, small kitchen, and full bath. This Fishing Cabin ensures a trip to the lake leaves the fish [and their smell] closer to the lake than the home!
Rounding out the Watson estate is the 4,700 sf. Guest House with 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a great room with sweeping views from floor to ceiling, and a two car garage. Close to the entry gate of the estate, this house is beyond adequate for housing guests in their own slice of a heavenly home away from home!
All Buildings are adorn with natural materials that compliment the contextual environment, with stone and wood cladding the exterior envelopes, and metal standing seam capping each as the roof material.
