The Bonidy Residence is located on 18 acres in Hendersonville, North Carolina at 3,400 feet in elevation. It consists of 3,730 sf of conditioned space plus 800 sf of two car garage. The home is passive solar with tile on concrete floors in the main living area as thermal mass. The home is cooled with 10 tons of A/C, but natural ventilation will take the home through the shoulder seasons. There is 11 kW of photovoltaic panels creating the roof of the outside patio. The patio has electric roll down screens to enclose it. It also has a gas grill and sink for the outdoor kitchen. The Kitchen is gourmet style complete with SubZero refrigeration and Wolf cooking and cleaning. Six burners and griddle over a double oven are under a stone arch while an additional single oven is in the glass shelved peninsula. This creates the gallery to the wine/liquor room. All of the glass of the Great Room absorb the views of the surrounding Smoky Mountains.
