Project Description

ECSD DJPK8 Renovation (Homestake Peak School), Building renovation and conversion from High School to Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade, Eagle County, CO; $10.5 million; 2011.

Since the construction of the New Battle Mountain High School, the existing structure (in the distance) was made vacant. The District chose to close Meadow Mountain Elementary (structure on right) and Min-turn Middle and combine them into a new Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade school housed in the Old Battle Mountain building. TAB Associates, Inc. provided programming for the new school type in the District as well as complete Construction Documents. The existing 120,000 square foot building is being renovated to provide for the new grades. The renovation includes Mechanical and Electrical upgrades, upgraded insulation values, new finishes throughout and classroom reconfiguration of about 30,000 square feet. In addition, many renovations occurred to update items which were no longer code compliant for the National Building Code and Accessibility Codes.
