McCombs Renovations – 331 Aspen Ridge
McCombs – Addition and Renovations, Eagle County, CO; 2020-2021.
This project involved about 2,280 sqft of additions and approximately 3,500 sqft in renovation areas.
The entry is extended to accommodate a garage extension, a large fireplace is introduced to the space and it is opened to kitchen. Existing powder and coat closet are removed, as well as log columns that are not structural. In the gallery, the north facing deck and door are replaced by windows, non-structural log columns are removed, windows are replaced and reconfigured to capture views. The entry level (100′) also had renovations to the dining room, kitchen, mud room, study, and garage. The level below (95′); master/great room level received renovations in the great room, master bedroom, and master closet/bath with the great and master rooms adding air conditioning. The Lower Level (90′) featured renovations to the media room, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and the wine cellar. The existing flooring of the media room was replaced, with edits to each bathroom that replaced the bathtubs with showers and replacing the vanities with full height vanities. The lowest level (85′) received thorough renovations, with the rec/family room renovations adding up to a more functional bar, a tv watching area and pool table area with a new workout room along the east sided. The new workout room was a component of the new addition. Along with this, bedroom’s 4 & 5 replaced existing flooring and Bathroom 4 & 5 have their vanities replaced by full height vanities. The upstairs (110′) guest bedroom has added air conditioning and the guest bathroom is reconfigured the space’s tub, shower, full height vanity, toilet closet as well as new finishes.
The exterior roofs, decks and patios were also renovated, adding snow retention systems, covered patios, covered decks (to an extent that did not block any views) and added gutters. All decks replace existing with waterproof stone decks as well as placing snow melts, firepits, an outdoor kitchen and new railings & balusters. The site was also looked at, with trees being removed, yard space extended for dogs’ area, added plantings, flower beds, a water feature, retaining walls, fencing, and the exterior of the home had its “dryvit” replaced with real stucco.
