Hagedorn – Residence Vail

Hagedorn Residence, 2,100 s.f., Vail, CO; 2018.

We were hired to design a new home on a shared split duplex lot in Vail. The new home needed to match the existing home on the other lot. This initial design shown was an attempt to break the aesthetic from the home on the site. An attempt to bring a little more contemporary mountain feel to the home was not approved by the Town of Vail.

After discussions with the Home Owner and additional Design Review meetings, the new design, while similar in form, needed to match with similar materials to the existing home above the lot.

This home design included two bedrooms, a flex room, small office nook, and garage. Making the most of the views from this property as well as gaining high ceiling spaces, the great room is on the third floor.
